Weather
Operating times will be subject to weather.
On normal operating days, if a change in weather is predicted we will do hourly weather checks and communicate any potential concerns to customers prior to hiring and reiterate the safety procedures they must follow in the event they need to evacuate the water.
Business operations will cease on days where there is:
- A Total Fire Ban (as per the CFS website)
- A severe weather warning is issued
- Lightening present
- Severe wind
- Extreme weather (hot or cold)
Anyone who has booked online will be contacted as soon as possible and informed of the closure. We are happy to re-book for another day or offer a full refund.
Cancelations
Cancelations by Wild Pack Kayaks
- Wild Pack Kayaks may cancel a booking if the weather is deemed unsafe. Business operations will cease on days where there is:
- A Total Fire Ban (as per the CFS website)
- A severe weather warning issued
- Severe wind
- Extreme weather(hotor cold)
- If a booking is cancelled by Wild Pack Kayaks, due to the weather or reduced hours of operation, we will contact customers as soon as possible and try to reschedule where possible, subject to availability. If rescheduling is not possible, we will be happy to issue a full refund.
- If Wild Pack Kayaks cancels a session due to non-compliance of our terms and conditions or inappropriate behaviour during a booking, no refund will be issued.
Customer Cancelations
- A full refund will be issued if the cancelation is made at least 72 hours prior to your scheduled booking. Contact Wild Pack Kayaks on 0480 496 401 to cancel. No refunds will be issues after this time.
Rescheduling of Bookings
- Bookings can be rescheduled up to 24 hours prior to your scheduled booking. To reschedule, contact Wild Pack Kayaks on 0480 496 401. We are happy to reschedule to another day/time subject to availability. Note that rescheduled bookings that are cancelled more than 72 hours prior to booking are not subject to a refund.
Waiver
Terms and Conditions
- All customers must read, understand and agree to abide by the ‘Conditions of Access’ to the Reservoir, as set out by SA Water. These can be found on the Reservoirs SA website at reservoirs.sa.gov.au
- Life jackets- are compliant with Australian standards and current legislation and must be worn at all times.
- Kayak capacity and weight restrictions are in place to ensure safety and these are not to be exceeded.
- Single (Striker) – 1 person kayak – maximum 120kg
- Double/ Family (Oceanus) – seats up to 2 adults and 1 child under 10 years – maximum total weight 200kgs.
- Children under 10 years old must ride in the double/family kayak with an adult.
- Children aged 10 – 18 who ride in a single kayak, must be competent using the kayak and equipment and supervised by an adult at all times.
- Unsupervised children will be removed from participating with no refund provided.
- Participants must remain seated at all times when aboard the kayaks. Standing up in the kayak is not permitted while on the water, with the exception of boarding and exiting the vessel.
- No swapping from one kayak to another is allowed while out on the water.
- When booking kayak hire, our customers select the length of time of their booking. All kayaks and equipment are to be returned on time and in the same condition as they were on collection.
- Damage to kayaks and/or equipment must be reported to Wild Pack Kayaks immediately on return.
- Lost equipment may incur penalties to the hirer.
- If wanting to extend your length of hire time mid booking, customers must contact Wild Pack Kayaks prior to the scheduled return time to request this. Extension approvals will be subject to booking availability, at the discretion of Wild Pack Kayaks and must be paid for immediately on return of the kayaks.
- Penalties apply for kayaks and equipment that are not returned on time. If returned more than 15 minutes after the predetermined due time of return, the Customer will be charged an additional hour’s rental based on current prices. (Note- wind and weather conditions will be taken into consideration and this decision will be made at the discretion of Wild Pack Kayaks).
- The Customer is to make reasonable attempts to contact Wild Pack Kayaks to advise of late return. If no contact is received by the Customer after 15 minutes of the predetermined due time of return, Wild Pack Kayaks will attempt to call the Customer on the number provided when signing the Waiver. If contact is not made and Wild Pack Kayaks staff do not have a visual on the Customer, Wild Pack Kayaks will be forced to initiate the Emergency Response Procedure for ‘Non return of Kayakers’, which may result in additional costs to the Renter.
- Cancelations due to weather – Operating times are subject to weather (as per our Weather and Cancelation policy). We do not operate in weather that is dangerous, high risk or that we deem as inappropriate for kayaking. If Wild Pack Kayaks cancels your session due to weather, we will provide a full refund.
- We take no responsibility for your personal items. We cannot look after your items if left on the shore as we cannot guarantee their safety.
- Clean footprint policy – Food and drinks can be taken on the kayaks, however we ask that all rubbish is to be kept on the vessel until you return. We will collect your rubbish and dispose of it for you at the end of the day, within reason. Excessive amounts of rubbish we will ask you to dispose of offsite.
- Glass bottles are not permitted on board the kayaks as these may break and cause hazards.
- No illicit drugs, alcohol or smoking is permitted.
- Minimise contact with the water to avoid water contamination. There is to be no bodily contact with the water past knee deep and preferably little to no contact at all, with the exception of launching and exiting the kayaks.
- If fishing, you must have current permit and abide by the rules set out by SA Water.
- Customers must comply with signage and any verbal directive given by SA Water.
- Be respectful of the environment and be mindful not to cause damage to the surroundings, including vegetation, wildlife and habitats.
- Act in a responsible manner and be respectful and considerate of other visitors and behave in a manner that does not interfere or impact the quality of anyone else’s time at the reservoir. We are all here to have a fun time!
Emergency Evacuation
- In the event of an emergency or evacuation, including fire, customers are required to comply with any directions given by SA Water or local government personnel.
- In the case of an emergency evacuation, all hire vessels are to make their way to the nearest shoreline immediately and exit the water. Customers are to leave hire equipment (kayak and paddles) where it is and make their way to the emergency assembly area (at the carpark on the South side) immediately.
- At the Emergency Assembly Area, customers are to locate the Wild Pack Kayaks Staff member who will record attendance to ensure all customers are safe and accounted for and collect Life jackets (PFD’s).
- Customers who have not been able to finish their scheduled hire session due to an emergency will be provided with a voucher to come back another time to the same value of their purchase.
- Wild Pack Kayaks will gather all equipment left at the reservoir shoreline once SA Water communicates that it is safe to do so.
Privacy Policy
We collect information about you during the checkout process on our store.
What We Collect and Store
While you visit our site, we’ll track:
- Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed
- Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping
- Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order!
We’ll also use cookies to keep track of cart contents while you’re browsing our site.
When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:
- Send you information about your account and order
- Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints
- Process payments and prevent fraud
- Set up your account for our store
- Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes
- Improve our store offerings
- Send you marketing messages, if you choose to receive them
If you create an account, we will store your name, address, email and phone number, which will be used to populate the checkout for future orders.
We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store order information for XXX years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.
We will also store comments or reviews, if you choose to leave them.
Who On Our Team Has Access
Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. For example, both Administrators and Shop Managers can access:
- Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, and
- Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information.
Our team members have access to this information to help fulfil orders, process refunds and support you.

We accept payments through PayPal. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to PayPal, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.
